Pros

Let me start by saying I rarely write reviews for anything, however I felt the need to write this one. I started working for Hilton Grand Vacations call center in Las Vegas in September 2013. I landed there after being fed up with the fly by night companies. My plan was to work in the call center for 6 months and transfer to selling timeshare. Needless to say that didn't happen. Never did I imagine working in a call center selling vacation packages could be so lucrative. My first full year in I made 80k. Not only was the money great but so were the people I worked with as well as management. You form a family bound. The company acknowledges their employees with Award Ceremonies, Dinners at 5 star restaurants. Auctions giving away thousands in merchandise from Tv's, vacations, jewelry etc. Spiffs which involved Amex and Visa gift cards. After 2 (1/2 )years, I decided to follow my passion of selling timeshare but not for Hilton. Needless to day after about 6 months and hoping from company to company the grass was not greener on the other side. I returned back to Hilton and was ecstatic about being back. I transferred to Chicago excited that Hilton had a similar position in Chicago selling same vacation packages face to face to hotel guest. Giving me the opportunity to be around family while not giving up what I absolutely loved. Had this position not been here in Chicago I would still be in Las Vegas. They don't put a cap on your earning potential so you truly create your own paycheck. The team travel program is Top Notch.

Cons

Standing on my feet all day.

Pros

Can make good money. Great benefits from day one. 177 hours of PTOA the first year. Goes past 200 hours after that.

Cons

In call transfer, you have to check off many boxes to hit your bonuses. Which can be exceptionally difficult. 15 sales a week, 160 calls taken, 7.15 to 11 percent conversion (dosent sound like a lot but its difficult) its not about how many sales, but your conversion. Difficult to hit conversion bonus. No sales, hang ups, etc. All good against your conversion. I had a 10 hour workday with 3 days off which was great. But its very difficult to have 40 calls (15 min each) every day. I had about 60 calls a day which went against my conversion. I later found out many people would put their phones on break which you're not supposed to do. But that's the only way it works. 5 calls an hour max. You really have to be in that sweet spot. There is an element of luck and being good with sales. I sold a lot. More than the average rep. However I made less money because I took more calls as well. So there were people who had considerable less sales than I did but who made more than I did because their conversion looked higher on paper.
