Another dollar an hour doesn't mean you can do more work when you already do all you can. - Department Head Hobby Lobby Employee Review

Pros

Full timers get $13 an hour, and can get insurance (as long as you sign up for it when you become eligible - they don't have annual open enrollment) and 401k.

Cons

Full time for about 3/4 of the year is 35 to 38 hours a week. You only get 40 hours or more (usually more) per week from November to January (whenever inventory is completed). So if you think you'll get to spend time with friends and relatives around the holidays, think again. Every raise we've been given for the last 4 years now has been accompanied by lectures on how we need to step it up (as if we hadn't been working as hard as we could already to cover our departments, help customers, help customers and act as relief cashiers), and this year was no exception. This year's push is security. We must stop whatever we are doing every 5 minutes so we can walk our departments and check for suspicious behavior.
