Pros
Most of the coworkers I worked with from other Hobby Lobby stores & the newbies hired at same time I was to literally set the brand new store from the building floor up were great to work with overall. We literally learned a lot about the company, worked our butts off together as a team & brought the big store to life in just a few weeks. That is about all I can say pro about my experience there.
Cons
Led to believe the company was based on true Christian morals & values, with fairness & honesty being of course one of those. I have a long career in creative arts, customer service & working hard to achieve my best in all I do. After doing all the above & more... I was recommended for the full time lead position of the floral dept. by the coworkers I was teamed with pre-opening. I was given that opportunity only to have it taken away just a few weeks later to a former employee that worked previously with our store manager that came back from out of state. Seriously? Not a word was ever said to me other than I was slowly transitioned to part time cashier! Found out soon after the girl that was given my hard worked for lead position was a big brown noser who doted over our manager bringing him food, cakes & God knows what else. That must have been the reason nothing was ever said to me even when I asked WHY I was demoted so to speak. Totally blew my positive outlook on the supposedly "Christian based values" the company tries to betray they are not! Thankfully I found another job a few months later at a company I truly enjoy working at soon afterwards. I had always thought Hobby Lobby would be a great place to work for prior to actually doing so. This place turned out to be the worst job experience I ever had.
