Pros
Pay and benefits were pretty great for an entry-level employee. I started out around $12/hr while on the 90 day probation period, after which I was bumped up to $15.75/hr. Vacation and PTO were also pretty good. The day was 8-4:30, which I liked because I could usually beat the 5pm traffic heading home. I never had to work during my breaks, past my shift, or on the weekend. The work/life balance was nice. They have food trucks come around lunch time many days of the week, which is nice because the nearest food establishment is too far to go to and back during your 30-minute lunch break. They also have a clinic on-site for their employees and their families which is nice.
Cons
My manager wasn't the best, she was a people-pleaser to the extreme and never really solved issues. When I left, I helped train my replacements, one of which was a terrible employee. I told my manager and she did nothing, and I later heard that employee stayed nearly a year and never improved. The Green family and Hobby Lobby have very Christian values, and if you don't agree with those you just have to suck it up, which is awkward sometimes. There are oftentimes protesters near the buildings, protesting the values of the Green family. Lastly, another issue is that the Green family HATE unions, and there is anti-union propaganda in the break rooms and in the hallways.
