Pros

"Trial by fire", "Drinking water from a firehose", "sink or swim" attitude makes it so that you are forced to learn at a fast pace. Prove yourself company will give you responsibilities that you would not be able to get at a different company.

Cons

"Trial by fire", "Drinking water from a firehose", "sink or swim" attitude. There are no 8 hour days at if you're on a project site: 12 hour days are standard. 6:30am to 6:30pm typically. If you get overloaded you will have to stay late. Saturday work is sometimes required to get what you need to get done.
