It really depends on the location. - Front Desk Associate Holiday Inn Express Employee Review

Pros

Willing to work with my schedule - I never had to work when I had classes. Reasonable requests for time off Great colleagues, interesting guests

Cons

As a front desk employee you really are a jack-of-all-trades. 30 percent of my shift is spent doing laundry, or folding it, which is the most time consuming part. Night audit has further duties, and because it is "slow" you're expected to pick up the slack of all the other shifts. So, if the people before you didn't do any laundry or clean or prepare key cards, you'll have to do it yourself.

Pros

So much downtime to whatever you want. Especially as a college student, I could do all my homework at work, and since I workout and play basketball, I could literally exercise there too. I was playing games on my laptop, switch, xbox, all at work because it was so chill and such an easy job.

Cons

Pay is not that good because you're not doing much work. Not really opportunity for growth unless you move to a different and nicer hotel.
