Pros
If you enjoy talking to guest, communicating with various friendly faces, this would be an ideal job for you. It's not strenuous, but there it is more than just checking in guest. You must handle different guest situations since we are the first people guest will complain or speak to and delegate who would be the best person to fix the matter whether it's maintenance, housekeeper, or manager. This job has opened me up since I did start off quite shy. The manager, coworkers, and housekeepers are mostly easy going. You even gain good relationships with regulars that come in who may also bring you food!
Cons
The hotel I work for is independently owned so there's not much room for growth. There were no raises, but you are rewarded in other ways.
