You earn experience working with people with TBI’s, dementia, etc

Cons

Management is poor. They could care less to respect privacy and will join in on gossip. This place also does not take great care of the residents. Supervisors would rather not help when we need to intervene a physical altercation Reportables are not always reported A lot of issues are swept under the rug at the expense of employees and residents.

It's small enough to really get to know your coworkers which in turn enhances team work and moral. Employees like each other, and enjoy working together, Many have been there for 10+ years. It's the closest to "we're like a big family" being legit than any local hospital system in Western MA. The senior leadership is genuinely invested in supporting the staff, the organization, the community, and the patients. It's refreshing to have a senior leadership team that is approachable and responsive.

Cons

It's a small community hospital so funds are not as exuberant as some of the other health systems in MA and CT, but it's leadership is resourceful and transparent with how funds are utilized.
