Pros

You're on your own all day...I would say thats about the only pro lol. Wooooo free ice!!!!

Cons

They come up with policies left and right. They don't care about life outside of work. LONG work days. No paid time off. Commisson pay only. If its a holiday you're working. Christmas? Whats that? They don't care!! No reimbursment for the phone calls you get on your personal phone. You HAVE to hit 2,000 units so your managers get that bonus!!! Jokes on you we all know about it Moral of the story just don't apply if you have a family because they don't care and you won't get paid in the winter. No facial hair, which is another joke. Its a proven fact that men with facial hair are trusted more, you'd think they'd let us have a controllable amount. As a matter of fact to an extent its illegal to make someone shave.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Getting employee feedback is extremely valuable and taken very seriously. If you are open to discussing more, I would love to learn more details about your experiences. If you are open to that, please e-mail HR@homecityice.com. If you do want to discuss further, I would be happy to show you the measures we take to collect employee feedback, what those results are telling us and how we plan to capitalize on what employees identify as our strengths and what we are doing to work on our opportunities. Our commission based pay is a way for employees to earn extra money for their hard work and efficiency, not less. We know how hard our drivers work and how efficient they are, which is why drivers routinely tell us they love the commission based system and the opportunity to earn more dollars. There is no cap on what someone can earn at Home City Ice. All drivers do make a set hourly wage which they are guaranteed, however, our drivers almost always see much higher paychecks due to outdelivering their hourly rate. Bottom line, if you're a driver who is productive and delivering high volumes of ice which helps the company make more money, we believe that you deserve a piece of the pie and should make more money as well! Regular employees are entitled to paid time off which varies based on length of service. Please discuss this with your supervisor and they will be able to provide you details. We all have lives and families outside of Home City Ice and understand the value of personal time. This is why we offer flexible scheduling for delivery drivers. Drivers are welcome to start there day very early to ensure they can end their day early. Some drivers prefer to start a little later, which is fine as well. As long as it is understood and agreed to by the plant manager, you are welcome to adjust your schedule to fit your needs. Home City Ice is closed for Christmas. I hope you do decide to discuss your concerns with us. Your opinion is valued and an important tool for us to continuously improve. Again, please do consider reaching out to HR@homecityice.com so we can discuss in greater detail. Thanks, Human Resources

Pros

Fast paced and if you’re mechanically inclined it’s lots of fun coming to work and watching the employees grown and help each other meet the aspects. By the end of the year it’s never fun to see the season end

Cons

First week you will get sore
