Pros

My main manager was very approachable and genuine and the open door policy was encouraged. Free food was a regular occurrence subsidized by the company. Each month we had a birthday cake at the end of the month for everyone's birthdays that month. There was always stuff to do so I was rarely bored. The breaks are 15 minutes long (paid) and lunches are either 30 or 45 minutes (not paid). Hours were good and I was able to take a lot of extra shifts from my coworkers. I was paid time and a half to work on days life Christmas Eve and New Years eve/day. The Company has an annual fundraiser for St. Jude's children's hospital. You're given a generous 12 tardies and 12 call outs each year before you're fired, repeating on the date of your employment.

Cons

The schedule only came out a week in advance, however you could make requests for time off with 2 weeks notice. Raises are annual and less than 50¢. Customers here have a sense of entitlement that I've never seen in any other store and there are no reprocissions or rules to stop their blatant disrespect of the store and its employees. Customers have to sign paper receipts, which is great if you really liked living before the Internet. The DataBase went down about 4 times during the 6 months I worked there, and we had to call to validate card purchases over $50. There's a lot of pressure to push this bogus credit card on the customers which makes it hard to be genuine with them. And during the holidays you're required to ask about buying giftcards as well. The playlist is the same everyday and mostly upbeat pop music moms would like, which compromise 90% of the customer base.

Pros

The people and the company respects diversity.

Cons

After working there after a year, the no fault hours doesn't kick in, if your hired date falls after December. Working with lazy employees and bonus are not fairly distributed, depending on which shirt you work on.

Pros

Decent coworkers, easy tasks, fine hours

Cons

Managers did not cooperate with me in terms of scheduling as a student (i was scheduled 30 hr weeks several weeks in a row despite communicating that I could not work that much because of school) and I felt like I was expected to bend over backwards for awful customers on a regular basis. Also, when district managers would come in for their yearly review the store managers would enact insane policies to make us look good to district that were never implemented otherwise (i.e. we weren't allowed to drink water on the store floor, even if you were on the register for an entire 8 hour shift.) I also did not like being told to continue aggressively pitching the company credit card to customers who had already told me several times that they were not interested, I feel this created a negative relationship between the customer and employees.
