Pros

wonderful co-workers, get to see new merchandise frequently, broad benefits package

Cons

Non-compliance with company break policies. In my four years I only received the 45 minute lunch break 23% of the time. Company is seriously understaffed. I could never use all of my PTO because there was never staff to cover time off. If you are sick plan on coming in anyway. DM's does not assist with coverage and will admit that they do not care "about what inconveniences the managers might experience." Although the company speaks often about connections senior executives would often do undercover visits to stores and not acknowledge associates. As a manager expect that your schedule will change frequently if not daily. Also expect to be called at home frequently on your day off. Beginning pay for hourly associates is not competitive. Neither a pro nor con but be prepared to really push credit cards. If you are not comfortable with that do not take accept a job offer.

Pros

The people and the company respects diversity.

Cons

After working there after a year, the no fault hours doesn't kick in, if your hired date falls after December. Working with lazy employees and bonus are not fairly distributed, depending on which shirt you work on.

Pros

Decent coworkers, easy tasks, fine hours

Cons

Managers did not cooperate with me in terms of scheduling as a student (i was scheduled 30 hr weeks several weeks in a row despite communicating that I could not work that much because of school) and I felt like I was expected to bend over backwards for awful customers on a regular basis. Also, when district managers would come in for their yearly review the store managers would enact insane policies to make us look good to district that were never implemented otherwise (i.e. we weren't allowed to drink water on the store floor, even if you were on the register for an entire 8 hour shift.) I also did not like being told to continue aggressively pitching the company credit card to customers who had already told me several times that they were not interested, I feel this created a negative relationship between the customer and employees.
