Pros

You really work with some extremely smart people at a company which practically invented the industry.

Cons

Very outdated facilities, corporate culture, and management. Lots of middle management which is unnecessary and working there kind of feels like its the 90s. Many departments are full of dead end careers. Management pays absolutely no attention to the needs of their employees. In certain departments employee satisfaction with management is extremely low however nothing will ever change.

Pros

The big highlight of my internship has definitely been the team I've been surrounded by. Everyone, including my mentor, boss, coworkers, people from other teams, etc., has been extremely welcoming and willing to help me throughout my entire internship. The project work as an R&D intern was amazing, and I was able to gather an incredible amount of knowledge as a summer intern.

Cons

Although I was provided company housing at my Raleigh, NC location, the housing did not feel safe. Last summer, one of the interns witnessed someone get stabbed to death outside her apartment (which is where I am at now) and had to take several weeks off work due to being scared of leaving her housing. The other interns at this location, while they had not watched it, had to live with that stipulation for the rest of the summer. At the end of the summer, a letter had been written by this intern, as well as other interns leaving reviews, saying that no intern should be put in that housing again. However, this year, I was put in that housing, to the disapproval of my coworkers. It's disappointing that such a great work experience is harbored by my poor provided housing experience, and it will most likely cause me to caution people about applying to Honeywell. While a murder can happen anywhere, I feel as though it was negligent to put interns, many of which are not familiar with the area, in a neighborhood that has a bit of a previous track record.
