Pros
Benefits are decent, kitchen staff is friendly and have a good sense of humor
Cons
1. Pay is low and you rarely receive any bonuses or pay raises
2. Kitchen has been short-staffed for a couple years now, overtime is constantly pushed onto the employees
3. Equipment breaks down all the time- instead of replacing old equipment, maintenance chooses to do a quick and cheap fix that only lasts a couple weeks
4. If someone calls off, sometimes you are expected to cover their position as well as the position you were originally scheduled for that day (doing two person's worth of work) without any sort of reward or extra compensation
5. Expect to receive disrespect and attitude from some employees who don't work in the kitchen (talking down to you, complaining about cafeteria prices, etc.)
6. You rarely get holidays off. I was told I would get every other holiday off when hired, but the only holidays I ever get off are the ones that fall on the days I normally get off. Sometimes you might get 2+ holidays off that year, other years you may not get a single holiday off
