Pros

The paid time off is great especially for those of us who have families with young children.

Cons

Promotion dependent upon who you know and not upon knowledge and experience. Employees with many years of service and lots of experience are being pushed out in lieu of younger employees.

Pros

At an EAS school, there is more autonomy. It is not so microamnaged. Free Pre-k for your kids. Available bonus pay through PFP model.

Cons

Not much coaching happening at EAS schools (for a first year teacher that may be difficult). Not all elementary schools have Pre-k so your kid may not attend the school you work at. I am finding out my new salary on THE DAY I RETURN TO WORK. Crazy.
