Pros

Extensive professional development opportunities, competitive pay and benefits, job mobility and opportunities to move up and into school leadership roles.

Cons

Because of the amount of pressure from Administration, the workload as a teacher is near impossible to complete during the week. There is little regard for work-life balance and this creates an extremely resentful workplace environment. Since jobs in administration can be acquired rather easily, principals and AP's are often not qualified to be leaders on their campuses.

Pros

At an EAS school, there is more autonomy. It is not so microamnaged. Free Pre-k for your kids. Available bonus pay through PFP model.

Cons

Not much coaching happening at EAS schools (for a first year teacher that may be difficult). Not all elementary schools have Pre-k so your kid may not attend the school you work at. I am finding out my new salary on THE DAY I RETURN TO WORK. Crazy.
