Pros

Lots of employee relation events at work.

Cons

Management, pay, pay differentials, offsite parking. HR will say that they are trying to keep a competitive pay rate in regards to other companies however, the workload at Methodist specifically is so much higher in volume that it does not even compare. Differentials and PRN pay will make full time day shift employees reconsider their status. One dollar for a 15 minute+ trip to get to main campus is not worth it. Management will claim their is not a high turnover yet 3 people in a single dept will leave within 1-2 months time frame. Management will pass up in house promotions and applicants based on biases and recommendations.

Pros

The transition to Workday is a welcome modernization that brings the organization more in line with other large health systems.

Cons

the work-life balance for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) needs significant improvement. The criteria for earning administrative time place unrealistic expectations on APPs, making it difficult to achieve a sustainable workload. It is especially discouraging to work alongside physicians who have more attainable criteria for protected administrative time, creating a sense of inequity that negatively impacts morale. Additionally, there is little flexibility in scheduling. Offering 0.8 or 0.6 FTE positions would help retain experienced APPs who want to continue providing high-quality patient care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Without these options, many APPs are left choosing between full-time burnout and leaving the organization altogether. the work-life balance for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) needs significant improvement.
