Pros

No pros about the tardy policy.

Cons

The new tardy policy has added extreme stress onto everyone. It is awful that you can lose your job for walking in the door a few minutes late regardless of the reason. I sent a message to my supervisor that I might be running late due to children issues in the morning, drove as fast as I could, clocked in 1 minute late and got a mark. Last year I would have said I absolutely love working here, this year has been more stressful especially with little ones at home. People that work at other hospitals have said they wouldn't think of working here after hearing about the new policy.

Thank you for the feedback. It is understood that sometimes being late to work is difficult to avoid. Our policy attempts to provide flexibility for employees in these situations and ensure the continuity of patient care and to help employees on the previous shift to get off work on time. If you have questions about the policy or how occurrences are calculated, please consult your supervisor or contact your local HR department for assistance. HR is always there to help.
