Pros

- No expectation of long hours - Many “business closed” days throughout the year - Paid sabbaticals

Cons

- The three founders who are still in charge don’t like to make decisions but also don’t like to delegate decisions to other leaders. Sometimes a charismatic person rises up and gets something done but mostly they let employees wander around directionless and hope for the best. It shows in the product quality. - Pay is mediocre. Meaningful raises only happen when top performers leave or threaten to. - They acquire 2-3 companies per year. They get glued on to the main products without being integrated so it’s a huge, stressful mess. - Seems to be all about the Sales department. Huge organization and they have this “Champions Club” where most of them go on a company-paid vacation every year. - Company hasn’t been profitable in years

Pros

-Positive Business Outlook: Users love Hudl and it's a very forward-thinking product that has a great place in the future -Values-led culture/norms: People are at the heart of how we operate -Very talented overall workforce: Our bar on hiring is super high and performance management process works if there are clear underperformers. -People genuinely get along with each other for the moist part - far better than most organizations with huge silo walls.

Cons

-Decision-making bottleneck at exec-team level with some pretty hands on leaders in the weeds on too much. -Some teams are quite top-heavy, a poor micro-culture on the team, and have less accountability than they should (Finance/Accounting specifically) -We can settle on talent in key roles that is in a key hub where we have an office since less remote hiring is approved.
