Pros
The impact that the organization makes for animals around the world. Dogs in the workplace program. Flexible hours.
Cons
There are so many great people who work here, but morale is very low in many departments because there is cronyism and a dictatorial leadership structure. HR is in the pocket of the executives and the board has no idea what's going on because staff has been told not to reach out to them. There are several inappropriate relationships within the structure, that result in the people who are friends with the executives having a say in large decisions and others being silenced because they don't/can't run up to their friends in high places. Salary is low and only people with connections to the top can get anything done. HR is a mess, with only a couple people able to help staff. The executive staff uses the important mission to keep people here, instead of paying them an appropriate salary and treating them fairly. The culture is that everyone except for people at the very top are replaceable. In fact many people believe that the executives want turnover in order to bring new people in at lower salaries.
