Pros
A lot of opportunity to learn. Challenging projects. Fraternal like atmosphere could help the new college grad make a smooth transition into professionalism.
Cons
Low incentive for skilled senior technical staff to remain. Pay is competitive only at the bottom of the experience curve. Starting salary on average is ~50K regardless of technical position. This amount of money is massive for 22 year old right out of college. Senior technical staff in similar positions are earning not more than 80K on average. I was one of those senior people and left for an identical role at another company for a 25K raise. There is a huge miss to entice and keep gifted experience over people with zero experience
