Pros

Great company to work for to pad a resume. Some on campus perks geared towards younger employees to make it look like Google. Within delivery range of most Pizza places in Westlake

Cons

Absolutely impossible to get a promotion unless you have family there. Some departments have a "No Promotion" rule in effect (QA / IS / Tech Support / PSG Work Life balance consists of working 10 hours at the office and another 4 hours at home on you own time. Departments that support the company internally have no balance and Hyland hires those with no life except working. Hyland will not answer employment verification calls, but rather redirects to a 3rd party and charges $29.99 to verify employment history. Hyland makes it difficult for those seeking better employment opportunity's outside of the company. Nepotism is so bad at Hyland many people just stopped talking to other people because they don't know who's who. Many new employees use maiden names to cover the fact that are related to other employees in the golden circle. Zero career paths for employees. Managers stopped talking about career paths to employees about a year ago. Expect a 3% raise yearly across the board. Sales and HR departments get a solid 5% raise yearly with bonuses. Performance bonuses are set aside for 1st year employees and family members. Hyland's employee retention rate is falling fast with many people leaving and those people have been with the company many years. Managers distant themselves from employees and rely on Team leads to manage the departments. Managers just get status updates and them report to Senior managers who then talk with VP's. There is so many layers of management and millions of dollars in salaries wasted that could be used towards development of the product. Hyland tries to be Google, But falls short on employee benefits and perks. Mainly because the board of directors are making sure they get paid first and then the rest of the family. The bottom line is the average employee will get pre chewed meat once the work is done and those who matter get paid. Hyland hires directly from Collage campuses. Those with high student debt are encouraged to apply. The only department that hires with a good salary is Sales, But you better perform or you will be thrown in the pit or in front of the bus.. You don't get to decide! Too many Managers in my department of 150ish has 30+ managers? Open door policy is career suicide if you choose to use it.

Pros

Remote or hybrid capability. Usually a flexible schedule.

Cons

Constant quiet firing. They've figured out how to avoid public disclosures quite well. Every month they're whacking batches of 20~30 employees - esp. if you were in a higher pay band or part of an acquired company. There's constant leadership churn as of late - not that leadership was ever that great, but the clownshow has more makeup on the pigs now. If you were part of an acquired company, the stench of nepotism was constant. Hyland doesn't provide legitimate training or certification assistance for everyone. Their products would fail any sort of security scan by an AI tool too. If you're a customer, buyer beware.
