Compensation can be high. Their line managers care about the employees.
Cons
Upper management is secretive. They abandon policies that were very public points of pride, e.g., TOTALLY local workforce. This year, they increased headcount by firing 10-20% of their domestic workforce to replace them from <i>. I believe that included a majority of engineers who understood their legacy products. When they proclaim to themselves, "Treat your employees like family," they mean "your jailbird uncle who you keep away from your kids." (They required all employees to provide marriage licenses and birth certificates to keep their dependents on company health insurance.)</i>
