Pros

Decent salary. Decent management attitude toward work/life balance. Nice area.

Cons

Departments/sections are segregated in attitude and cooperation. Non-departmental managers try to dictate to associates in other departments. Work proceeds in silos, and attempts to get necessary information can be seen as intrusive. Quite a bit of "territorialness" in managers, as in most US corporations, unfortunately. Engineers haughty toward non-engineers doing technical work.

Pros

Profit sharing is nice if we get it.

Cons

Hypertherm broke two federal laws and put me on a discipline program for a protected activity. After I successfully completed this discipline program I went to human resources with concerns I had. I also reported sexual harassment at one point. Hypertherm fired me for reporting sexual harassment. That's the second federal law they broke. Reporting harassment is a protected activity according to the EEOC
