But make sure you're always applying elsewhere and make sure that you haggle your salary up by 25%. -They have plenty of writers so you can focus on a narrow beat if you want. -If you're a young writer, the editors can help you get better. -Top editors try their best to listen to staffers. -The awful pay is at least helped with bonuses: $500 bonus for best story of the week, $3,000 bonus for 900,000 views in a month. -Since the start of January, some verticals have been getting better at allowing their writers to spend the time it takes to do good work (some are getting worse, though.) -It's possible for some people to not let the drama bother you. -They hire good writers and editors who want to do good journalism.
