It may project itself as a stable large organization growing at a rapid pace, it is at the core of it a start-up mindset that's trying to grab whatever comes its way, without stepping back and having a strategic plan. - There is a lot of leader pleasing happening at the top level. A lot of real issues and challenges are not shared or not understood. That leads to a lot of disconnect in what the grassroots level is experiencing and what the ivory tower is discussing. - They hire industry, functional and domain experts and yet do not let them practice autonomy over their teams. The bureaucracy and red-tapism restricts the experts from exercising their expertise and implementing solutions that would make everyone's life easier.
