Pros

Great work/life balance for most employees. Relatively flexible hours, as long as a full day is eight hours and you are in office from about 9 to about 5. New hires at orientation are personally greeted by the COO, complementary lunch provided on first day. The workplace environment is friendly and mostly relaxed. Employees working together create an atmosphere of trust and positive relationships, people aim at solving problems at hand rather than blame on one specific person or group (though not always perfect). From what I heard, entry-level positions are not competitive with others in terms of pay, but that rises as you gain experience. Small but cozy office building.

Cons

Long-time employees have said Novella's job perspectives became rocky right at the time they were bought off by Quintiles. Just as the company got used to the new directions from the top, Quintiles and IMS Health merged; recently the parent company was renamed IQVIA with almost none of the people at Novella knowing about this. Programmer positions are being transferred to India and cut back at home in Morrisville. While there have not been large-scale firings and terminations, I would not be surprised if that chain of events strikes Novella in the near future. Rumors have it that many experienced employees will be laid off soon and replaced with entry-level positions with lower pay.

Pros

They were really good at leveraging each individual's strengths. People were helpful and supportive when something is blocking your project

Cons

Unclear or non existent career growth. Way too many harassment and compliance trainings (like significantly more than any other publically traded company I've worked for) to the point where it can interfere with essential tasks. Getting blindsided by a massive layoff.

Pros

Great company culture, excellent team support, fantastic management at all levels. I especially value the training initiatives that help in the day to day. This is a great place to build skills, especially in AI. Work life balance is emphasized and encouraged.

Cons

It can feel a bit like being a cog in the wheel at times, although good ideas do get the attention of management. Workload can be unrelenting around EOQ. Process "improvement" initiatives are constant, poorly announced, and often make things worse. Raises and bonuses are meager and do not keep up with inflation/market value.
