Pros
* Reasonable salary * Competitive benefits * Lots of great coworkers at the individual contributor level
Cons
IXL has been on a buying spree for the past few years. Unfortunately, the CEO and COO haven't learned how to either delegate or communicate. They don't provide effective feedback, then respond negatively when you don't manage to read their minds. As an example of the kind of problems their refusal to delegate cause, the COO is responsible for every hiring decision across the company. She doesn't bother to actually meet with any candidates, but will ignore hiring recommendations when it suits. While employees on the IXL product generally have a long tenure, they are pretty ruthless with their acquisitions. Do not expect to have a long and happy career with IXL if they acquire your employer.
