Pros
As of this writing I’ve worked at ImageTrend for a little over 5 months and I’m very happy with my decision to work here. The company is about 21 years old and they have several competitive medical software products with their flagship product being documentation for paramedics- so you work on software that matters and it helps make one’s job more rewarding. The company is about 185 people and growing at the perfect pace, not too fast but fast enough to make it a great place to be. The work culture here is very good. I’ve observed minimal politics and people work well across departments. For the most part people work collaboratively to ensure that customer driven goals are met on time. The developers and QA get along great and for the most part I would consider it a very healthy corporate culture. Upper level management doesn’t expect you to work unrealistic hours and a work/life balance is promoted. They genuinely want people to learn and grow their skills. They have a very large development & QA team and they are a very technology focused company. They have a ton of great benefits including affordable (and very high quality) onsite day care, company cabins, company picnics and pizza nights, free beer on tap after 3, and a very competitive benefit package for their employees. The executive team is also great and the owner, Mike, is very involved and an extremely fair and generous person. He cares for the employees that work here and his expectations are reasonable and in line with someone that’s built up this successful of a company. The VPs are all very good too and responsive to concerns if they come up. I’ve been told that they have never had downsizing or layoff here and that is unprecedented in this day and age. There are some negative reviews below but I’m quite surprised by them and I’ve not experienced anything out of the ordinary in my time here. Instead, I’ve experience a positive environment and willingness to make things right. There are also a fair number of long time employees here that have nothing but positive things to say.
Cons
The only downside I can see is that it's 25 miles south of MPLS and not an easy commute for people that live a long ways away.
