Company on self destructive mode - Engineer Imagination Technologies Employee Review

Pros

None left that stands out

Cons

Pay is considerably lower than what other competitors offer. Competent engineers leave the company one after another just to be replaced with less competent new hires. Promotions get often conveniently frozen or delayed, even if you manage to get yours accepted through the blurry requirements. Pressure to set goals for personal development just to abandon them 2 months later due to strict time lines and bad project management. Constant task time tracking and need for reporting increases stress levels and de motivates people. Constant changes in team hierarchy without visible results in the longterm. Last actual perk, flexible remote working, is being revoked and people will need to be 3 days per week in the office, despite them being on online meetings all day with colleagues from all over the world and not working with people from the same office as them.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly value input from all employees, especially those who have been with Imagination for some time, as it helps us understand where we can improve. We recognise that compensation and benefits are important factors for our team. Our pay is benchmarked using Radford to ensure it remains competitive and fair within the market, and we review this regularly to maintain alignment with industry standards. Regarding performance goals, we conduct performance reviews twice a year, where goals are set and are intended to be regularly monitored. I’m disappointed to hear that your experience has been different. I would very much welcome a conversation to understand this better and ensure any concerns are raised with the right teams, as this does not align with our approach to employee development. On the topic of hybrid working, I want to clarify that flexible work is not being revoked. Starting in the new year, most employees (excluding a small number of designated home workers) will be expected to be in the office at least three days a week. Part-time employees’ attendance will, of course, be pro-rata. This approach is consistent with other leading technology companies, including Apple, Google, IBM, and Meta. Didier has spoken candidly about the rationale for this update, highlighting the benefits of in-person collaboration while maintaining flexibility where possible. We appreciate your candid feedback and the time you took to share your perspective. We are committed to listening and continuously improving the work experience for everyone. Jo Jones
