Pros

+ Mission-driven healthcare; work feels impactful in a positive way + Bright and easy to work with engineering peers with collaborative culture, even in a remote environment + Good work life balance + Diverse and welcoming environment. Above average in this respect when compared to engineering departments at many other tech companies. + Management feels open to feedback

Cons

We are still recovering from a merger between two companies that had many differences in engineering culture, GTM strategy, and products. This led to growing pains and some controversial product decisions, and the impact still remains today with issues like tech debt and overall alignment of the company. It appears that things are improving in these respects, but only time will tell if that ends up being the long-term trajectory.

Thanks for highlighting so many of the elements that make Included a mission-driven community of truly great people. The merger did come with lots of change, but we're glad to hear you've seen improvement - our leaders are focused on change management and making sure we continue to strengthen our Included Health processes.

Pros

Really strong ICs and front line managers. Excellent developer experience and support. Cool to learn Go. I learned a lot in my role.

Cons

Chaotic leadership making poor choices with unnecessary reorgs and bad communication. The product is decent but honestly overhyped in the amount of benefit it provides. There’s a lot of drinking the koolaid about how it’s revolutionizing health care which stretches the imagination at most generous interpretation. On call was noisy and frequently woke people up in the middle of the night. Everything was always an emergency in terms of features. If you treat everything as an emergency it just causes people to leave as they burn out.
