Pros

Good pay, reasonable benefits, nice atmosphere, rarely called off, most of staff nurses are supportive and helpful when over whelmed with severity of pt. care load / emergency situations.

Cons

Upper management is not well versed on actual needs and concerns of floor staff, do not supervise unit managers treatment of employees, unit managers take patients sides and does not listen to employees explanations regarding patient complaints, no upper management or unit managers ever make rounds on night shift to stay in touch and address issues the staff may have. Employees have been verbally threatened, received physical harassment and discrimination by others and nothing is done. Assignments of patients are not based on acuity, leaving one with much heavier assignment while others have a light assignment.

very flexible schedule, leadership is good at communicating and showing appreciation. They also don't allow others to treat coworkers poorly. Insurance is affordable with decent coverage, more PTO than many companies.

Cons

pay is low, increases are very small
