Pros
Summary:
Incredible organization, great opportunity to grow professionally, cool office, and fantastic benefits.
Detail:
I am came to Informatica to join a new organization at an established company. It is rare to have an opportunity to launch a new team at a $1B software company and the risk I took was well worth the reward.
Over the last year I have been able to grow by leaps and bounds as a sales professional. If you want to get better as a sales professional this is the place to start, progress, or finish your career. The company culture is excellent by any measure and by far the best sales organization I've been at.
The management team says what they are going to do and then they do it. They allow freedom to be creative about how you approach a deal but also give the organization a solid process to have predictable revenue.
The Austin hub office has done a great job mitigating the curse of the open office; the sales floor is an open floor plan like any tech company worth its salt but it also has plenty of offices and conference rooms available to set aside time to concentrate.
From a product standpoint, it is a leader and has done a tremendous job taking care of customers and working with the broader tech world to form partnerships.
Cons
Growing pains are normal as part of a new organization. Overcoming the perception as a legacy vendor is sometimes a challenge and more resources need to be devoted to the smaller market space.
The overall structure of the sales organization has too many layers and could be streamlined for better efficiency and cost optimization.
