Pros
Working with the Participants and co-workers. I thought this job was going to be great, I was very excited, it seemed wonderful. The center is new and fancy, you get your own company issued laptop and cell phone. These are the only positive things I can say about the company.
Cons
Hostile, toxic environment, incompetent leadership, impossible demands. Staff is beyond burnt out in all departments, there is high turnover like I have never seen before, it is a hostile and toxic work environment that values profit at the expense of employee’s and participant’s health. Employees are seen merely as machines that produce profit. Corporate greed has led to poor quality of care. Despite asking upper management to pause enrollments, staff were told that “corporate” wouldn’t agree to it. Guess what happened? A sanction was imposed at the Sacramento center freezing future enrollments indefinitely. A law firm is conducting an investigation and interviewing former employees about their experience and inquiring about what they think has led to such significant deficiencies. Management does not value employees as human beings Employees will work the jobs of 2-3 people. There is no time to take a break, God forbid you have to step out for an hour for a Dr’s appointment. The meetings and assessments run back to back leaving no time for actual participant care. Management will tell you to ask for help if you need it, and when you do ask for help, you will not receive it, but they will attempt to gaslight you into thinking that they are, “Have we not been flexible and supportive enough?” Think of it like this: You’re in the ocean drowning. As you reach out your hand to be saved, management pushes your head down under the water and says “Just breathe, you’re fine.” Management rewards employees for breaking their backs on the daily with the occasional pizza delivery on Fridays. I have never seen a company so poorly operated. Management and HR are incompetent and not supportive at all. Bullying and favoritism exists here. I feel so bad for the vulnerable senior population who deserve so much better from their health care provider. They are suffering. Shame on management and corporate! Management and HR will tell you that it is difficult to find employees to fill roles, but they only care about having someone doing the work, and will work that person until they become too ill to work. Focus on retention and value your employees. I cannot emphasize this enough.
