Pros
You get a pension and holiday. The more you are a favourite with the board / vice presidents the better things will be for you. On rare occasions the office banter can be fun.
Cons
There is little investment in the employees at the bottom of the hierarchy - payrises are very rare and when they do occur they are less than inflation, no bonuses, no benefits and training is mainly limited to free partner courses but you still have to agree to pay back thousands for free courses if you leave in a certain time period. This creates a negative atmosphere in the office. Communication is poor which leads to disbelief and chaos. Very little room for any career progression. The workers who have shown loyalty to the company they are not recognised and get paid less than new people i.e. not worth staying there for a long time if you do join - unless you are a favourite or a manager! Things are implemented but then forgotten, e.g. monthly staff appraisals. Not many social events with the workforce, company events have all but stopped and Christmas celebrations are about two months late. Very high turnover of staff throughout the company. The money/profits for the board and vice presidents come first before the average Joe employee. Focus is set to see more work being done offshore rather than onshore.
