Is this your company?

A little misguided - Product Analyst Interlace Health Employee Review

Pros

Autonomy, work/life balance, benefits - PTO, 12 week parental leave (I was laid off during mine), medical/dental/vision are good enough. Colleagues are by and large good to work with. They are an employee-focused organization in my experience (SWAG, PTO, virtual social events, etc)

Cons

No career growth - I was told explicitly there was no position or budget for a raise for me to strive for during a performance review. Performance reviews are a meaningless formality and are treated as such by managers in my experience. For example, I received a 3/5 in Adaptability after winning the Core Values - Adaptability award for the company. My review was wrought with spelling errors and my boss said he 'must have been rushing through it'. This is not really motivating for an employee. Culture issues - there are tenured employees allowed to bulldoze important conversations around functionality and strategy without possessing any discernible expertise. This is allowed and enabled as 'passion' and 'caring about the company'. Ultimately, I was let go for budgetary reasons (restructuring and decreased revenue were also mentioned) while on parental leave. It was a shock as the last all-company call I was on there was no indication that there was trouble.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your contributions during your time with us – they are truly appreciated. We’re glad to hear you valued the autonomy, work-life balance, and took advantage of our generous benefit offerings. Providing exceptional support for our employees both personally and professionally is a top priority at Interlace Health. We regret that we were not able to address some of your concerns sooner. We understand your frustrations regarding career growth and performance reviews. As a smaller company, there can at times be a number of constraints limiting our ability to offer significant raises or new positions. However, we are always committed to supporting employee growth through professional development opportunities, such as cross-departmental training, certifications, outside coursework, and involvement in meaningful projects. We provide time and monetary resources to encourage growth in these areas, and we continue to refine how we facilitate internal advancement opportunities. Your experience with the performance review process and leadership accessibility is concerning, and we are actively working with our leadership team to make these processes more consistent and meaningful. Additionally, we take seriously the cultural concerns you raised about tenure dominating discussions. While we value passion and dedication, it is critical to foster inclusive and constructive dialogue, and we will use this feedback to promote a more balanced and respectful environment. Regarding the recent layoffs, please know these decisions were not easy and were not made lightly. They were based on careful consideration of the company’s long-term goals. We recognize this can feel abrupt and we are committed to improving communication around organizational changes. Your suggestions for skip-level meetings and more open connections with leadership are valuable and align with our goals of fostering transparency and collaboration. We are committed to learning and growing as an organization. Your feedback will help us improve, and we sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Most of the employees are very tenured and knowledgeable. Good benefits.

Cons

We've been trying to modernize our technology for about 10 years and have yet to figure it out. The current technology is 35 years old and about to go the way of the dinosaur. New sales have been minimal for a number of years. "Leadership" brought in a load of fractionals which have proven very little value. Unfortunately, this ship is rapidly taking on water and nobody has a compass.
