Pros
Many people do try to help each other, especially in coping with repeated layoffs. Upper management is trying to find ways to overcome long term culture of fragmented business units competing with each other. Management is improving communication.
Cons
Silos and disregard for upstream and downstream impacts in decision making. Lack of integrated processes and/or systems. Lots of "tribal" knowledge being lost, documentation and standard processes rarely available.
