A lot of interesting projects and overall exciting environment to be in commercial automotive. The acquisition by TRATON (VW) has been a step in the right direction. There is definitely a bright future ahead of Navistar with TRATON steering the ship. Decent work life balance benefits (vacation time, paternity leave, sick time etc.). A wide variety of engineering teams to work with or for.
Cons
Stagnant career growth/development. In my experience the company is a great place for new engineers out of college to get into product development. However, the raises and growth opportunities get fewer and far between. Peers in other companies/sectors will start to surpass individuals in pay, titles, etc. Many bright engineers leave the company regularly due to these factors.
