Pros

I enjoyed working at IPG. I loved how active the job was most of the time. Lots of stuff to learn but very interesting and valuable information about the machine I was working with, safety, and what we were producing for the company. The monthly bonus for reaching product quantity quota was also very nice. If I could work there again right now, I definitely would. I also enjoyed the comradery with the guys on my shift that I worked with. It's definitely not a job you can sit down on unless you're on a break and that was fine. I enjoyed it.

Cons

Sometimes we wouldn't have enough people on shift to run 2 machines but were instructed to run 2 anyway. That was tough on 12 hour shift but it was interesting that we still managed to do so. Just took a lot more effort and much more scrambling around which is not ideal for that type of job when it's also physically demanding. Also the random involuntary shift change was the reason why I had to quit the job. I personally had an agreement with my family at home on the shift that I had been working for the past 9 months. Changing it would change so much and my family wasn't able to just change their jobs and schedules for me. I wasn't asked if the shift change would work for me, I was just asked to read the agreement and sign so I had to put in my 2 weeks notice from there. I really enjoyed the job and the pay but it took me over and hour to get to work and over and hour to get back home anyway. I was spending more time at work than I was at home but I didn't regret it. Just wish the scheduling had been more flexible, I'd probably still be there today.

Pros

Decent pay and benefits. Work/life balance.

Cons

Micromanaging. Management team has no idea what they are doing with their program. Adds pointless homework to feel good about themselves instead of letting us do our jobs. On top of that, lots of top down pressure, most likely due to private equity management up top.
