Pros

I found 90% of the people at Intuit to be generally kind and friendly. The benefits are good. The San Diego office was very nice and had good amenities. A big variety of teams, some more functional than others.

Cons

My organization was in a constant cycle of trying to update the tech stack, then other priorities arose that the VPs wanted more. Because of the outdated software, our on-call became pretty hellish. Plus, it was a full 24/7 week every month with the expectation of a sub 5 minute response time. Our managers all had way too many reports (15-30) at a time. They were treated pretty terribly and were working at all hours. I would consider returning to Intuit, but I would never be a manager at Intuit. Promo process is pretty over the top and really weighed heavily toward your personal brand beyond your team, which I don't necessarily think makes an engineer a good engineer.

Pros

Benefits are amazing, medical insurance, vision and dental. Company match on 401K and volunteer time off.

Cons

They keep making decisions to outsource jobs to contract workers who don't share the same value in training or customer care. Oh they say they do but when you catch the listening to music so loud you can't hear the customer, or literally snoring on the line they can't do anything because of the way the contracts are set up. It is up to the contract company and the contract company just needs warm bodies. They did not even supply enough people doing our busiest season this year to co or the shifts that were required in the contract. So good luck with that. They will always eventually lay you off.
