Pros
Overall, people are pleasant. Depending on the department in which you work, it determines the work-life balance and atmosphere.
Cons
Very political. Several individuals are in management that 1. shouldn't be, 2. are in the role because of who they know and how long they have been with the firm, and 3. have mastered passing the buck. It's unfortunate that this is such a large organization and the opportunities to move for career growth is very limited. This is evidenced by the limited positions posted. If you have an issue with your manager and it is reported, be prepared for life to be difficult. You realize the true atmosphere of your department when employees from outside of the department communicate what they see and hear. For a multi billion dollar firm, having a high deductible health insurance plan as the only option is EXPENSIVE to the employee. It may save the firm millions, but when that cuts into the finances for the employee it isn't positive. And it is difficult to swallow when the firm has healthy reported earnings.
