Pros

Teammates, culture, pay, unlimited PTO

Cons

When I first started at Invitae, it was the best thing that happened to me. From the teammates, lab directors, etc. You would've thought that this was the best job ever and that you'd want to retire at a company like Invitae. It was the people that I worked closely with that I valued so much. Everyone was hard working and each teammate CARED for the patients and providers that were being helped. Recently there was a MAJOR LAYOFF. Without warning! You would think that you'd be notified about how the company is doing and that your time at Invitae is coming to an end. Well, that wasn't the case at all. You get one email saying there will be new leadership, then 10 mins later you get another email stating the same thing and that there will be major changes.. Then about an hour after the second email, YOU GET LOGGED OFF EVERY SINGLE THING ON YOUR COMPUTER WITHOUT ANY WARNING. Teammates were in the middle of working .. HELPING PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS and then get logged off .. Can you say ridiculous? Someone from IT must've been one of the thousand that got laid off and probably just said screw it and I probably wouldn't blame them. Mind you these leaders and directors knew what they were thinking about but didn't have the audacity to warn the employees. So you have teammates that were laid off on a certain day and a few that still has to work to close out a lab. So yes, this place was a dream and too good to be true. It was a great job and I enjoyed every minute of it. I enjoyed helping our patients and providers.
