Pros
You meet a lot of talented individuals, pay is OK for the area, big emphasis on work-life balance. I enjoyed meeting people from all backgrounds and helped them get to their goals. Faculty are, for the most part, very caring.
Cons
Clique culture, very much like high school. Be careful who you share personal information with and opinions of, very little is done to curb the rumor mill. Certain departments work way harder than others, and there's a mentality of "someone else will do it". Management is out of touch, and there is a large emphasis on following the chain-of-command. Very little trust in employees they hire, need to get approval for basically everything you do. Brown nosing and incompetence seem to be rewarded, or at the very least, tolerated in this environment too. Finally, training was appallingly bad. All training received had a fringe relation to my job, but anything directly beneficial was not provided or encouraged, too much heavy reliance on paper packets you read and figure things out for yourself.
