Pros

The employees are extremely helpful and friendly, and they are very casual so the workplace doesn't feel stiff, they have a lot of events you can go to if you want to meet other workers

Cons

The higher management was really pushing exporting positions overseas making it hard to communicate with new employees, huge time zone differences also made it harder to get things done on time

Thank you for posting this review on Glassdoor and for mentioning our employee engagement work to facilitate our staff getting to interact with each other amidst the hybrid work environment at Iyuno. One of the impacts of a global organization is that we try to put quality localization as close to the local markets as possible. This occasionally results in some languages being moved from one country to another. We work very hard to ensure balanced workloads and for a language moved away, we try to bring work into that country as well.

Pros

At the beginning, I had stable work and didn’t have to worry about making ends meet. Iyuno was enough as my main income, and I could live comfortably.

Cons

Over time, my workload was gradually reduced without any explanation, despite having five years of experience and consistently high-quality work. I was effectively replaced by new translators while being kept in the dark. This has left me uncertain about my future, and unfortunately, I can no longer rely on Iyuno as a primary source of income. After years of dedication and turning down other opportunities to stay loyal, this outcome is very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback and for the years you contributed as a freelance subtitler. We value the expertise and commitment of our freelance community and are sorry to hear this was your experience. Work volumes in our industry can shift based on client demand, language needs, and project mix. That said, we recognize that changes without clear communication can be frustrating, especially for long-standing contributors. We expect our teams to engage with freelancers respectfully and transparently, and we do not support practices that leave contributors feeling overlooked or disregarded. Your feedback highlights an area where we must continue to improve. Iyuno values quality, experience, and professionalism, and we do not reduce opportunities based on individuals raising questions or concerns. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. We wish you continued success.
