Pros

Great pay and bonus for starting analysts right after college. Strong company that truly best-in-class professionalism. Exciting work with community heavy-weights. Great brand that competitors recognize. Many benefits and perks. Great team environment. You really feel like you're at the top of finance.

Cons

Overly-conservative. People will judge you on everything and individualism is not encouraged at all. You are at the mercy of the bank when it comes to location and work-life balance (although much more flexibility is given at commercial bank). You are expected to know your stuff when you come through the door. Little support is given to help you if you're not.

Pros

The team was supportive and willing to answer questions. I gained practical experience in industry research, financial analysis, Excel, and data organization while working on real projects. Managers provided helpful feedback, and the internship was a good opportunity to understand how research and analytical work is completed in a professional environment.

Cons

Some assignments could become repetitive, especially data cleaning, database updates, and reviewing large amounts of information. Deadlines could also be tight during busy periods. Because the internship was relatively short, interns sometimes had limited ownership over longer-term projects.
