Benefits are great, job leaves much to be desired - Technology Analyst JM Family Enterprises Employee Review

Pros

Get paid on time, good insurance, updates to the campus are beautiful, some great people

Cons

The processes in the technology department are horrendous, they range from having friends to looking at flow charts that look like a cpu design. The technology with limited exceptions does not work well, we are always waiting on something to be completed or fixed. Projects run slower than the ice caps are melting. There is limited new leadership which means that the old ways of doing things are the new ways. That is a not a good thing. We have at least 2 opportunities to improve, well more than 2 but I got bored counting. Technology leadership is essentially an echo chamber. They only listen to one another and the feedback to one another is good. Most have been there a long time so they think they know everything. They say the right things but their actions do not reflect what they are saying.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
