Used to be better - Technology Lead JM Family Enterprises Employee Review

Pros

We are pretty good at shifting people to new roles. Every time I come back from vacation, company looks different. Retirement benefits are top notch. Good pay.

Cons

Very disappointed in the technology department. New leadership for about last 2 years, however nothing is better than the old leadership and that is a scary thought. We spend an incredible yearly increasing amount of money to essentially stand still and in many ways go backwards when you consider the volume of money spent. IT Upper and Middle management is almost completely at a stand still. It seems that the only thing that IT people do is fight with each and back stab. Cliques everywhere. Does not seem to resemble a business but rather little kingdoms everywhere. Core values - these are out the window.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
