Pros

I worked with some talented people.

Cons

The most pretentious, self-absorbed, 'smoke and mirrors' company I have ever worked for. I should have known because many who worked there told me JM was all 'bells and whistles' but I was so impressed that they are on Forbes list of best companies to work for that I didn't care. They bombarded me from day one with, " if you need anything, if you have any questions please don't hestitate. we want you to be happy, we want you to be comfortable, we are here to help, we have an open door...blah blah blah" then I asked my manager what is JM policy on any flexibility for moms with little ones as I was struggling with the long hours and commute, needed to take care of a health concern and also balancing with picking up and dropping off my littles. Well after I asked my manager this, she said to me "let me think about it. we don't normally offer any special arrangements except in special circumstances but Ill see what I can do" and she actually added, "thank you for talking to me about it, " Later that evening my vendor called me and told me she called her and told her "tell her don't come back." that was it. no explanation at all except that I was told I shouldn't have asked about flexibility. apparently, the whole talk about being this great understanding company is just a pretense.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
