Pros

Decent pay for the area. Other employees are all in the same boat so we can bond at least.

Cons

Poor performance is rewarded and effort and accomplishments are frowned upon. If the manager doesn't feel like an idea is his, then it's a bad idea. If a group of us get excited about something, he can't stand it and shuts it down. Overall, manager lacks the confidence, skill, or resources to lead a team of knowledge workers.

Pros

Good pay and benefits, I was just a temp employee, but I still accrued sick hours, and management was lenient on how I used them. I worked with the roads department directly under two professional civil engineers and they always helped me with questions and guidance.

Cons

Physical location took some getting used to, Jackson County gets really hot during the summer, and there was a lot of smoke from wildfires in the area.
