Pros

Jacobs' benefits (not including salary compensation) outweigh most of its competitors, e.g. stock options, 401k contribution (8%), and medical insurance options. Jacobs' senior management and overall corporate strategy appears to be forward-looking and adaptable to the current global market trends.

Cons

How Jacobs evaluates its employees working in the defense sector needs work. Too many employees' performance hovers close to baseline mediocrity, while others excel far past their roles and responsibilities, yet there is little difference in their compensation beyond a one- or two-time $1,000 bonus. Moreover, many of the senior billets are filled by individuals who cannot be characterized as senior analysts. It is often these mediocre individuals who then recommend promotion of other unremarkable employees to senior positions to the detriment of the customer and the organization.

Pros

Love the culture and the people.

Cons

The health insurance no longer covers GLP-1 or other weight-loss related medications (specifically excludes them), which I find appalling. They did cover it, but then removed coverage for all company plans. The benefits of weight-loss and obesity-related medical coverage are so high for employers and yet Jacobs decided not to care about their employees who need them.
