Pros
-Working at Jane Technologies gave me the opportunity to work at a fast-paced, innovative company that truly stands at the intersection of technology and the cannabis industry. -I’m grateful for the chance to help build and shape a new department (DealDesk), which allowed me to gain significant operational experience and contribute to the company's growth. -The experience served as a career launchpad for me, helping me develop transferable skills that I now apply in my creative endeavors and other professional pursuits. -Jane is a company that attracts exceptionally talented individuals. Those who excel are at the top of their game, akin to superstars in their respective fields.
Cons
-Imposter syndrome was a consistent challenge during my time here. It was clear to me that the company demands not just effort but natural excellence in your role, which can be daunting for those not in their ideal career fit. I was not meant to be there, that imposter syndrome was more of a red flag to me to listen to my calling that I wish I had listened to sooner -The process of being let go could have been handled with more professionalism and communication. A more collaborative transition period would have been appreciated, especially given the knowledge I held across multiple teams. -The work is intense, and the expectations are high. Jane’s environment requires individuals who are naturally skilled at their roles to the point where their work doesn’t negatively impact other parts of their lives. For those for whom the work isn’t second nature, the pace and pressure can lead to burnout. -Some tasks were tedious and repetitive, particularly in operations. The cannabis industry’s evolving nature means that processes are often manual and slow, which isn’t a fit for everyone.
